Describing herself as a visual activist, she produces work which challenges gender, sexuality and racial politics issues with a focus on gay, lesbian and transgender groups.

“I’m reclaiming my blackness.” she proudly claims when explaining the inspiration behind this particular body of work. She confronts the depiction of black skin in contemporary society and sources her ancestors and her own experience growing up in Umlazi near Durban to present a new voice which also highlights South African history.
